Some precautions



First, it should be noted that the essential oil of oregano is strictly prohibited in internal use for pregnant women. It is the same for those at risk such as infants and people with heart conditions, oil is by nature a stimulant, so that may be incompatible with hypertension.

Ingesting too frequent or high dose of essential oil of oregano can cause poisoning, or a more or less aggressive cases of convulsion. Also, it is generally advisable not to exceed six drops per day, the best precaution, however, is to consult a specialist. Mention may also be adverse effects of excessive oil, the decrease or lack of sexual drive. Finally, it is always wise to dilute it sufficiently before any external application, to avoid any burning or irritation of the skin.
